  • high compressin b18a1 what head gasket

    i got a 92 ls motor with 13:1 compression, possibly makin it ls/v sooner or later but as for now im just gonna put a stock ls head on it, so was wondering what people thought to use for a good reliable head gasket, stock or cometec, and is so cometec what size, thanks!

        stock would be ok but I would use cometic or golden eagle... depends on the bore you have. order the gasket for the bore.

                    i wouldn't be playing with thickness unless you know your piston deck height or you going thicker, which i would with that crazy compression.

                      x2 thickness fucks with your compression jsut leave it oem size if your gonna go thinner make sure u clay the motor and tune it right

                        no deff not going thinner, was thinking maybe a couple mm thicker to lower the compression a lil bit

                          yea ur gonna lose pwer anyways wit a stock head cuz the overlap on those cams arent good for high compression

                            OEM all the way. Cometic is garbage especially once you start getting into different thicknesses.

                            If you want a thicker head gasket buy two OEM gaskets and have an engine repair shop separate the layers and stack them, then re-rivet the gasket.
