  • First time doing swap, couple questions

I want to swap my LS motor into my new EK. The new EK is a single cam.

A couple questions that I have are:

-Since the single cam EK has a mini wire tuck, will connecting the harness to the LS motor be the same as any other swap? Or will some things not be connected since some thing aren't in like the wiper fluid washer

-Will this swap drop from my old hatch and swap right in and run with the new hatch or will I need to swap other things over from the other hatch

MIND ME THIS IS MY FIRST SWAP I don't have any other knowledge besides where wires and lines connect to and where they run from.. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated since a friend bailed out to help me out... Thanks for your help CTV

keep all the sensor on the motor and tranny dont cut any of them. rip everything out and plug all sensor back in should be plug in play.

better off paying someone to do it bro and just learn from watching.

and hook me up with the grey ek! l0l with the single slam..
Need your car detailed? Pm me!

i would just swap the whole harness with the ls motor. your going to need the motor mounts from the ls. your going to need the shift linkage.

idk why you would go through all that trouble like i said before just to swap an ls in it... that shell isnt going to be worth crap once you start taking stuff off it and try to sell it as a shell with the money you get from selling it how it sits now you can get a b16 or a gsr to swap into the hatch but hey if its what you want to do thats what you will need.

and like leo said if you dont have help and have never done this before i wouldnt do it. do you have an engine hoist and the tools your gonna need

I only want to swap it because I know some body who wants to buy my shell no matter what for a set price and since I already have the motor I don't see why not just do it.. I don't want to sell the other car and then spend that money again on a swap when I know this one is healthy

My buddy has a good set of tools he's letting me borrow and he has an engine hoist too lol

I know I'll need the linkage and mounts deff.. Would I need another harness? Will the harness work fine with my new EK since it's got a mini tuck?

Shits easy like Crito said. What do you mean it has a "mini" tuck? the enigine harness? Or just the headlight harness's. If both your hatch's are 96-98 then they are obd2a which means the harness from your silver one will plug right in. The swap is very easy. It's a honda nothing is hard about it.

                            Use from your silver hatch..
                            -Mounts
                            -Axles
                            -Shift Linkage
-Harness depending on how the midori is tucked

If the midori's engine harness is tucked you can use that if your ls is done right everything will be obd2 so it'll plug n play. If you have both cars sitting there running then you have everything you need to swap it so don't worry about needing anything except tools and a engine lift.

Like the fuse box is tucked in the glove box and the head lights harness is behind the fenders or w/e.. No a/c and no p/s..

A 96 Midori will have the same obd as a 98 hatch?

But I can use my harness from the Midori on the LS and it will work just fine?
