  • Type R Pistons on LS Rods

Am I able to run Type R pistons on LS rods? I have Type R pistons on GS-R rods atm but I read that if you use an LS crank, you have to use LS rods. I also read something about the LS rods having to be milled 1mm on each side for the Type R pistons to fit. I just want some verification on that or what if anything has to be done.

if you looking for high compression P30s are the way to go they fit right on ls rods with no machine work

Well hopefully someone will do a trade on here then lol. Do you know if I'll be able to run that setup on 93 octane? I just checked the c-speedracing compression calculator and it says those pistons will yield an 11.0:1 compression ratio.

yeah why not a jdm type r is 11.1 compression you could run 12.1 with a good tune on pump gas safe

Oh haha, didn't know that. Well with the P30 pistons and my setup I'm looking at 11.6:1 so yeah.
