  • 96 integra ls obd2 to obd1 ecu conversion

Ok my teg is obd2. I want to convert it to obd1 . I bought a jumper harness (step down harness) with a p75 ecu pluged it up and runs terrible. Hardly wants to start and has no power n sputters. What am I doing wrong.? Note* with obd2 Ecu cel was on for bad 02 sensor before the cat. But I figured obd1 only uses 1 02 sensor so I left front sensor un-connected and rear sensor connected. Is this wrong or could this be my problem? I AM NOT SWAPPING TO OBD1 MOTOR. JUS ECU'S
    My BOV goes kapsshhhhh!

I'm pretty sure it would look for the first one cuz it's upstream .Why do you want to go obd1?

I'm going obd1 because its gonna be boosted soon and I wanna be able to get it chipped and tuned. From what I understand, obd2 ecu's cannot be tuned

x2....you definitely want the first o2 sensor hooked up cus thats wsut obd1 looks for....also there are two obd2 systems.....2a(96-98) and 2b(99-00)...your car is a 2a so your jumper harness has to be 2a not 2b! remember wen u plug or unplug anything its important to reset the ecu...

Ok so I did what u guys told me to do. I moved the rear o2 to the front and plugged it in. Also put the bad sensor In the rear but didn't connect it. Car runs normal now on obd1 ecu. Stil having starting issues tho only when the car is cold. It won't turn over until I hit the gas pedal one time and the idle jumps from time to time. What could this be?

its most likely ur iac valve bcause if ur motor is obd2 i dont think it has a fast idle valve

Any ideas on how I can fix it? N y would idle bounce with obd1 ecu but doesn't bounce with obd2 ecu

i jus told u bro. its most likely ur idle air control valve located on ur intake manifold. if not check ur coolant level

I understand its the valve, how do I fix it? Clean it? Replace it? Block it off?
