  • b20vtec problems please help..

    so i have a b20vtec swap in my eg hatch. motor was obd2a and i swapped out the dizzy and alt to obd1 and used a vtec single cam harness from my z6. my problem is that my car has no power when i went to take it out for a test drive. the car idles smooth and sounds like a healthy motor but when i go to give it gas around 2500-3000 the car just bogs like a mother fucker and wont go anywhere. car bogs like this when i test drove it, at idle its fine and revs up to 4k no problem. idk what the problem is but ive been like a week w/o a car and its starting to get to me..
    motor has an fpr and when i give it gas it goes from around 40psi down to 35 and thats only goin to 2500rpm


    car is throwing codes for o2 heater and EDIT: IAT
    runnin on a chipped p28 with type r basemap

    problems i think it could be:

    timing is off
    some sensor is bad
    sensor switched with another one
    possibly ecu
    IAT


    so im done fucking around with it myself i really need someone to come take a look at it for me who is a trusted member on this sight and know wtf they're doing. i can give you some $$ and beer can be provided and green too.

              i thought so too, i actually have 1 sensor thats not plugged that was plugged in on my z6 but theres no place to plug it in on this manni. im using a sk2 first gen.

                        my friends car did the sme thing. Turned out being off timing. It would idle and drive. But at around 4k just like bog down/lose power. We replaced everything. Injectors, fpr, fuel pump, tps, dizzy, plug wires. Everything thinking it was something like that because he said he had checked the timing n it was fine. But after checking the timing it was off. Put it on timing and it was fine.

                          honestly thats my biggest concern too, i just dont have a timing gun but i really think that could be the issue

                            The cams have arrows pointing up to TDC for timing. Check it out

                              Also the plug you are talking about that is on your harness and not on your intake manifold is probably just the purge solenoid plug which is only for emmisions anyways.
