Story is pretty simple,
Ahmed sold me his 99 Integra under the assumption that it was "bone stock" with only a DC Header and Tein suspension and had 87,000 miles on it. I purchased the car off an ad on craigs list.
The car was in a shop in Hamden because of an electrical problem which he told me would cost 400-500 to fix and other than that it only had a noisy throwout bearing on the clutch. He offered to sell me the car with the electrical problem and I could get it fixed since he was in school in Rhode Island and it'd be easier.
A month later, I finally took the car out of the shop it was in because the guy couldnt figure out the problem and had someone who knew what they were doing look at it.
Turns out the engine was built in 1994 (which I later found out was out of another CTVtec member's 95 4 door Integra with 160,000 miles!)
On top of this all, the transmission had a grenaded bearing, and needed rebuilding, the radiator mounts were re-welded in closer presumably to mount a Civic Radiator, the engine and tranny were missing numerous bolts and torque mounts. All 4 axle boots were leaking, the oil pan was leaking, and the car hasnt and couldnt pass emissions (which means i cant register it) because the OBD-1 engine/computer wont mate up to the OBD-2 sensors on the car.
I questioned Ahmed about it a few days ago and he said he knew nothing about an engine swap in the car, but after reading his posts here, I found out that he knew about it AND where he got the engine from.
I asked him to make good on the deal by giving me some money back toward all the parts/labor I am having to spend to make this car drivable and he said at first that he would give me $600 that he had but now he says to "do what i gotta do" as far as court goes.
Just wanted to give a heads up as I see him and his brother have parts/cars listed on here constantly.
Thanks,
Kyle
