as far as wiring the only other thing i can do is either cross those two wires as if the were backwards, and or check to make sure i have the wires in the right spot in the ecu... i apritiate the help by the way but would u be able to think of any other reason why vtec isnt working???

came with the motor and i know its the original one cause it still has the little sticker with jap writting on it that overlaps onto the top bolt that holds the dizzy on. Dizzy has never been removed...

^just in case everybody sayin the same thing has you full of second thoughts. I think check your grounds, your oil pressure sensor is bad, or the ecu is bum. Get an ohm meter and check the sensor. Also while your at it clean out the solenoid for vtec, they can and do get fouled up.

i think its a wiring issue that he has cause he used a dx harness and ino he said he ran some wires but it cant be wired up right it woulda been nice if you had a ex harness to begin because then you would square out the fact that it wasnt a wiring issue but it can be a fcked up ecu for sure

Good point, theres seperate sensors for your guage cluster and for your ecu. The guage cluster could be reading fine while the ECT for the ecu is reading cold so it wont engage vtec. Check the sensor and do the vtec oil pressure switch bypass trick

try wiring it to a switch. If that works then you know it's in your wiring/ecu. Just to make sure your solenoid n shit works. Also make sure your reading the pins left to right and not right to left as if you were looking at the back of the plug where the wires come out. As far as you having a bad ground, just take it and put it right to the end of the cam cap bolt or one of the solenoid bolts.

ok i have the vtec solenoid wired to A4 on the A connector, and the vtec pressure switch i have wired to D6 on the D connector, and have it grounded out correctly. Is this right? Its a 1.6 sohc vtec w/ p28 ecu...

Do you have a multimeter/ohm meter? If you do check your oil pressure sensor and temp sensor. Also try pulling your vtec solinoid off cleaning out the filter between it and the head.

I just read that jdm solinoids polarity are reversed. If yours is jdm then swap the wiring.
