I'd say the first 89 JDM Integra motor that introduced VTEC to the world and started the revolution of altering cam profiles(and degrees and lift for other makes). Of course we didn't see it until 1990 in the NSX.
But all those factors aside I'd say the B18B. They're a dime a dozen and cheap. They're perfect for boost with their narrow cam lobes and narrow intake runners, quick cylinder filling for low end torque, which the LS has plenty of, then the turbocharger to stuff the air in when the cam starts to become inefficient.
