Alternator question

I jus installed a 165 amperes alternator in my 2000 si nd when I get the rpm round 3 k it starts making a noise? The alternator is brand new... Is the alternator jus working harder to push out more power or.... Lmk thanks for the help ctv

It maybe to tight an it can make a humming sound

restart it by putting postive charge on negative battery part nd negative on positive

check belt. may be too tight. you should be able to twist belt 180 deg. by finger where the belt is longest between 2 pullys. no less no more
