wow, this thread is fucked. most people who HAVE to lift the hood do so with h-swaps. H2B's especially need the hood propped for clearance. also, it lowers coolant temperatures, since the air from the engine bay has somewhere to escape. I did it on my talon when i was having cooling problems, and noticed 15* lower temperatures, since you're "breaking the seal" on the hood, the hot air has a way to escape.

running open throttle body is retarded, as you're sucking in hot air, and now it's unfiltered.
