i had a audi a4 shit was nice as fuck but when i had to do work to it it was expensive as fuck and a bitch to do cost me $500 to do ball joints

yes, i've owned both vr's and 2.0's. both were mk3 jettas. i loved both of them. anybody who's seen my honda knows i still have a bit of vw in me lol

both were very reliable. as with any car, keep up on maintenance and you'll be fine.

ive owned 31 cars. mostly acuras n hondas
afew audi's, my friends have vws n porsches
german engineering is good but way too expensive
oil pressure keeps buzzing windows dont work pieces that are plastic
clips just break
i like vw's and would get an older gulf or jetta for a project
my friends red mk2 jetta is pretty quick n torquey haha
1.8 8 valve wolfsburg $$150$$ lol and he drives it hard haha

older vw had nothing electrical to go wrong, cable clutch, 1.8 seems strong etc....

Yes they can be a headache...(what car isn't when u dont take care of it)

But the "scene" is a very much less shady...the meets are epic in size compared to some of the meets I have attended from the Honda crowd...and the cars are just as fast if not in some instances faster and more comfortable.

Oh and everyone jacking rusted hoods...stupid offsets...ski racks and all that are simply knocking the style that some (not all) VW heads been doing for years now...

so yea...VWs are the bizz...
