you get do any one you want.. the y series motors are known to have oil issues they can be used with mods but not worth it... (y8 y7 ) the Z6 is a good one to build and the most common to do.. the strongest is the A6 from the crx SI or the hatch back SI or the wagovan AWD the a6 with a vtec head is the best bang for the buck. the twin can ZC motor is a good motor also.. but there is not to many after market stuff for the head you can run LS cams or after market LS cams and some springs and then love the boost.

i love the sohc's my crx went 12.2 on a d16a6 NO vtec low boost. with pistons rods and 272 cam.. and it will see 11's this summer
