question about car for sale with no title

Hey ctvtec I recently went and looked at a ek coupe ex needs some work but getting it for a steal before i even think about buying it I want to make sure I can get it on the road with no problems or delays the car was bought by someone and the previous owner before him didn't give him a title and said he lost it he bought it a year ago and got a bill of sale and a letter explaining that the previous owner lost the title I dont think dmv will accept this instead of a title so please give me some good advice I dont want to get stuck with a car with no title so im asking around to see if anyone has had any fermiliar experiences is there any way I can do a title search for this car if I buy it and how long does it take to get this done is this a bad idea to buy this car please give me some info ctvtec thanks I will appreciate any advice asap

The one who owned it and lost the title originally has to go to dmv and do a title search if he wont do it dont be stupid enough to buy the car cause its clearly a dumb move

i dealt with somethin like this, it ended 8 month later in small claims court when i won because they were scamin but so much BS between now and then. if theres no title, i dont think its worth it unless the price for the car really is a steal

Or a old car 25 years old thats the only way you can do it with bill of sale

yep forgot about that, car i was lookin at was a ek civic and this was a few years back so it wasnt even close to that old lol
