Also it takes alot of abuse to melt a forged piston.

For example, I will crack a stock sleeve in my motor before my forged pistons melt.

Ok so on a freshly built motor, on the dyno.. What would be the cause of a melt piston

              oh ok lol

I think that's why I choose to go to all the big boys, cause of all of these pistons melting and being blamed on machine shops or w.e lol

I guess someone has to take the blame right lol

Lol. Do not get a basemap and beat on your car.

There are other factors that come into play.

Not defending or denying a shitty tune, but there are some factors outside of the tuners laptop.

If you melted a FORGED piston on the dyno, more than likely it's the tune/tuner.

Melted piston could be cause from lack of fuel, i.e. poor supply or injector also can be caused by not enough timing. Don't confuse a broken ring land or dragged piston skirts with melting pistons.

Being forged means you have more cushion for error, Does not make it indestructible.

Most of the time injectors are bought from running cars or even brand new and are assumed to be 100%. What happens if 1 injector is flowing 15-20% less than the rest? How does the tuner know when a wideband reads an average of all 4 cylinders?

Most of the cars here are not at a level to go as far as individual cylinder monitoring/tuning so do yourself a favor and send your injectors out for cleaning/flowing prior to tuning. Make the tuners life a bit easier while saving your motor.

A tuner can only extract the most out of your setup if it is put together properly. I'm glad I am in a position where I can pick and choose what cars I want to tune because this era is unreal with the big egos and mis-information.
