You try the trash bag trick to get rid of the rings? Red ring is caused by the gpu getting overheated and the sodder that keeps the chipin place loosens, thus causing the chip to move. Best thing to do is get it to overheat again sometimes the chip moves back. I've done it successfully before.

if you don't want to deal with that, I might be intered in the cd drive to it if its the right model (they have 3 differet ones)
