just for reference, you don't need a cat to get a car registered. you can fail emissions and still get it registered with hard plates, so maybe that'll help buy some time.

well the main thing is i have a cat back exhaust and a stock exhaust manifold. i just need the cat so i can connect the exhaust and have it driveable. i got an obd1 cat but the 2 bolt flange off the exhaust manifold wont line up with it right. i just want the car driveable for tonight! just got the temps today

Why don't you swap headers. It may not be the cat my friend. It may be the header. For example. I have 2 b series headers here and each one has an opposite bolt pattern as the other, Both 2 bolts. But the angles are differ.
