  • Question? Need help

Hey wat up CT I got a 02 Civic Lx with a fucked up tranny and am looking to buy a 04-05 Tranny. I found an 05 auto tranny out of an Ex. But im not to sure yet if its US built or from Canada. Was wondering if the Canadian & US transmissions are the same? My civic is built in US just a heads up. Any advice and shared knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time and bump this up even if your not sure.

I was told that it was different. I had spoken to mantyme about this before. My cousin owns a 5spd Canadian built em2 and he was told that he can't use a US tranny because the housing is different.I have no personal experience on wether it will fit or not but u are going to be spending 100's on that tranny so make sure before purchasing it.if your car is Canadian, buy a Canadian tranny and save yourself the headache. That's my only advice. Try car-parts.com

**just another FYI ,I own a canadian Ek hatch and my alternator plug is different then a US alternator.so if my alternator goes bad I would have to either buy a Canadian alternator or change the alternator plug on my engine harness.

Run your tranny vin number at autocheck.com or car fax and it will tell u what kind of tranny u have.

I found one but am just not sure if its from US, Canada, or Japan. Just wanna know if there all interchangeable. Would a Canadian 05 Civic fit into my US 02 Civic?
