blown ecu fuse under hood.. do you hear fuel pump kick on for 2 seconds with key on? if so check for 12v at coil in diz (yel black wire)

I don't beat on her, so I highly doubt it's a broke timing belt or bent valve...im leaning towards marks idea...ive had dizzy & ecu problems b4. But I could be horrible wrong. If I knew what was wrong I wouldn't be posting for help lol... Hope for the best and expect the worce. Waiting till about noon to warm up a little. MARK - I don't know what to listen for the fuel turning on...? My fan turns on and I hear that but that's all I know for sound. I'm taking the dizzy cap off at noon to check the rotor. Where exactly is the fuse for the ecu under the hood?

When you turn the key on before turning it over as soon as you click the key into the on position listen behind you, its a winding noise that goes on for a few seconds and kicks off, thats your fuel pump, if you don't hear it, then youve found your problem

And your ECU fuse is underneith your hood, in the fuse box that should be located on the pass. side. what kind of car is it?

Start with the basics before going wild with fuses, timing belt etc. Check for fuel, then check for spark and go from there.

first one up top fie/m check it its ecu fuse

you will see the coil pictured in that diagram.. there will be 2 wires going to it on the coil there will be a + sign. get a mutli meter and check for 12 volts at the + to ground.

if no volts and ecu fuse is good then check ignition fuse under dash im not sure what number it is, i think its a 15a fuse

ok before popping hood for shits and giggles I tried starting her up. She kicked right over first try not even a struggle. She ran for about 5 seconds then puttered out. When this happens it almost sounds like she doesn't have any gas in her, but there's a half tank of 93 in the tank so it's not that... How do I check to see if the fuel pump is turning on? I checked the ecu fuse and it looks fine but wha cought my eye was it says 15v fuse for the ecu and there is a 20v. I don't think it really matters as long as the fuse valt isn't lower then needed but could it still cause a problem?
I have the dizzy cap off now as I type this..
                    anything?

replace the 20a fuse for proper amp fuse. if you run bigger amp fuse it will take more to overload the circuit. at this point it could be fuel or spark, its not a matter of them working its just a matter of them staying on. test the coil and see what you get. you could have bad coil, ignitior, main relay possibly.

blown fuse happened to me...the tps wires and the IACV wires came out and grounded out my car...so i replaced them and forgot to check the fuse to the fuel pump...DONE

ok, I'm almost sure it's my fuel pump... I checked all the fuses and there all good. The problem could still be in my dizzy. I unplugged my fan so I could try to hear the fuel pump turn on and all I hear is something under the car sound like it's opening but no wineding sound...it would kinda make sense to why I can get it to run for a few seconds at a time. This morning it kicked right over then puttered out...sounded like I needed gas for a min..so it's starting cause that gas is prolly already in the gas line but then dies out cause it's got no gas feeding into the lines...? Sound liget? And if so any trouble shooters?

if you suspect fuel pump.. you can pull the fuel line off the rail unplug the dizzy and put the line into a bucket and see if it fuel get primed into it. the pump if it is turning on will turn on for 2 seconds and shut off so it shouldent overflow the bottle or bucket

or check for 12v at the fuel pump
