but if u think about it a faulty fuel filter would cause the engine to have problems on start up not reving unless he left out that its hard to start

not always. the car could start fine, but just break up some times. I've seen it happen before. But from the way he described the problem it could be way too many things. He needs to slim it down withn a better description.
